How to Use Local Buses

How to use pay-in-advance buses

This is the “board through the front door, exit from the center door, pay in advance” system.

1.When the bus arrives

Check the destination displayed on the front of the bus. The front door opens. On some lines, the fare differs according to the ride segment.

When boarding, please tell the conductor which bus stop you will get off at. If paying in cash, insert your payment in the fare box. If paying with PASMO or Suica, swipe your IC card.

The name of the bus stop is announced on the bus’s PA system and is also displayed on the information display panel at the front of the bus.
When your stop is announced, push one of the“disembark buttons”.
Disembark buttons are located by the windows, on handrails, etc.

The exit door is the center door. Please leave your seat only after the bus has stopped.
When disembarking, pay attention to bicycles and pedestrians.

2.When your stop approaches

The name of the bus stop is announced on the bus’s PA system and is also displayed on the fare display panel at the front of the bus. Check the number of your numbered ticket against the fare display panel and prepare your fare. You can change banknotes into coins at the fare box (only 1000 yen banknotes are accepted). When your stop is announced, push one of the“disembark buttons”. Disembark buttons are located by the windows, on handrails, etc.

Night Highway Buses

Carry-on luggage

Luggage space (trunk space, etc.) is limited, and large pieces of luggage such as the following are not accepted as their acceptance may prevent accommodation of all passengers’ luggage:Bicycles (including folding ones), skis, snowboards, surfboards, golf bags, etc.
Please use a courier service to ship your large pieces of luggage in advance.

  • ● The following items are not allowed on board or in the trunk: Hazardous materials (explosives, highly flammable materials, etc.), fragile items, smelly items, items that may cause damage to the vehicle, and items that can inflict bodily harm or inconvenience to other passengers.
  • ● Small animals (puppies, cats, small birds, etc.) are not allowed on board. (Including when they are kept in a cage. However, an exception is made for assistance dogs for disabled persons, such as guide dogs and hearing dogs, and dogs with similar abilities.)

  • ■ Please present to the conductor your printout of the reservation screen (a mobile device screen is also acceptable).
  • ■ Please keep valuables on your person.
  • ■ Please note that buses may run late due to road conditions, weather conditions, and so on.
  • ■ Please note that the service vehicle may change depending on the day of service.
  • ■ Please note that even in the case of delayed arrival due to road conditions, weather conditions, or other reasons beyond our control, refunds cannot be made.
  • ■ Please be sure to fasten your seat belt while on board for your own safety.

Airport Buses

● Note:

  • ・Bus delays may occur due to road conditions and the like, so please allow for sufficient time when planning your bus trip.
  • ・The seats on this bus are all offered on a first-come-first-served reservation basis. Except for buses starting from Kamakura Station.
  • ・Ticket availability is subject to seat availability.
  • ・No standing passengers are allowed owing to the riding capacity of the service vehicles and their operation on highways.
  • ・Advance reservations (prior to the boarding date) are not possible. However, reservations are accepted for buses that start and finish at Kamakura Station.
  • ・All seats are non-smoking.
  • ・Please be sure to fasten your seat belt while on board for your own safety.
  • ・Please keep valuables on your person. We will not be held responsible in case of loss.
  • ・Please refrain from using your mobile phone on the bus.
  • ・The terminal at Haneda Airport differs according to the airline and destination, so please make sure that you get to the correct terminal.

● Boarding from Kamakura Station [reservation basis]

  • ・If you have a reserved boarding ticket, please line up directly at the bus stop.
  • ・If you do not have a ticket, you can purchase a ticket at the Enoden Kamakura Information Center at least 5 minutes in advance subject to seat availability.
  • ・Please purchase your tickets in advance as much as possible because ticket may sell out depending on demand. (Ticket purchase by using communication tickets or transportation IC cards is not possible.)
  • ・Customers who use commutation tickets or a transportation IC card may purchase tickets at the time of boarding, subject to seat availability. (Reservations not possible)

● Boarding from Fujisawa Station or Ofuna Station

  • ・ Reservations are not possible. If using cash, commutation tickets, or a transportation IC card, please pay at the time of boarding.

● Boarding from Haneda Airport

<Bus for Kamakura Station reservation basis>

  • ・If you have a reserved boarding ticket (Haneda Airport to Kamakura Station), please line up directly at the bus stop.
  • ・If you do not have a ticket, please purchase a ticket at one of the automatic ticket vending machines or the bus ticket counter located in each terminal, and then line up at the bus stop.
  • ・If you use commutation tickets or a transportation IC card, please obtain a designated time ticket by specifying that you will use either commutation tickets or a transportation IC card, and the desired destination and time, at the bus ticket counter.
    When boarding, please present your “designated time ticket”to the conductor and pay for the bus ticket with your commutation tickets or transportation IC card.

<Bus for Ofuna Station or Fujisawa Station>

  • ・Please purchase a ticket at one of the automatic ticket vending machines or the bus ticket counter located in each terminal, and then line up at the bus stop.
  • ・ If you use commutation tickets or a transportation IC card, please obtain a designated time ticket by specifying that you will use either commutation tickets or a transportation IC card, and the desired destination and time, at the bus ticket counter.
    When boarding, please present your “designated time ticket”to the conductor and pay for the bus ticket with your commutation tickets or transportation IC card.

Regular Sightseeing Bus

Please note:

  • ◯ A bus guide will accompany the course.
  • ◯ Regular sightseeing bus tickets are available on a reservation basis. Reservations can be made from three months in advance until 17:00 of the day before. Reservation inquiry : VELTRA
  • ◯ You may be able to ride on the same day that you purchase your ticket subject to availability.
  • ◯ The fare includes the temple admission fees.
  • ◯ There is no discount for auxiliary seats.
  • ◯ Please note that the stretch from Hasedera Temple to Kotoku-in Temple will be traveled on foot.
  • ◯ Bus service will stop during the year end and New Year holidays (December 31 to January 3).
  • ◯ Bus service is not available on certain days due to facilities being closed or other factors.
  • ◯ On Saturdays and peak tourist seasons, bus arrivals may be delayed significantly due to heavy traffic.
  • ◯ Since we are unable to refund fares even in the event of missed train connections and the like, please allow for sufficient time when planning your trip.
  • ◯ No smoking on the bus.
  • ◯ Different vehicles may be put in service due to vehicle maintenance or other factors.

PASMO

・PASMO is a transportation IC card that allows you to use private railway and buses in the Tokyo metropolitan area with a single card. Even when its balance (stored fare (SF)) becomes 0 yen, a transportation IC card can continue being used by charging it.
Suica cards are used in the same way.

・Transportation IC cards are accepted on all local buseses and Haneda Airport Limousine buses.
